The region of Tokari has always presented as a little estranged from its neighboring districts. From innovative and groundbreaking concepts to controversial tactics, the land has been colorfully dashed with fear, money, greed and a number of other unsavory vices that are imposed upon its residents. But not all is bad. Citizens strive to lead normal, respectable lifestyles while teaching the youths, from both near and far, the ways of harmonious existence and warning them never to delve too far into the gray areas. However, human nature forbids perfect peace. Their presence refuses a true harmony or a true chaos and onto themselves they bring about discord and havoc through practices that are best left alone. Starving for knowledge but never learning from the mistakes of their predecessors, humans have once again succumbed to their green with science as its medium.

A renowned professor and pokemon expert began an experiment that anyone could say was a radical feat and should not be undertaken. His aim was to craft sentient life forms of human intelligence using pokemon. His far-reaching theories and eccentric studies were appalling and abhorred, resulting in the man having his license revoked for fear he may attempt his research on his own. The world itself had shunned him. No laboratory would allow him to neither preach his dissent knowledge nor let him into their facilities. All but one.

Dislocated members of once great corporations, Teams Rocket, Magma, Aqua, and Galactic, forged their own paths after the disbandment left them broken and defeated. Those who continued to thirst for power approached the doctor and offered him a laboratory beyond the sight of the public, a staff eager to work alongside him, and limitless funds, if only so he would produce solely for their own gain. He was told nothing else, the information he received was pertaining only to him and what would become of his research and later developments were secret. The scientist did not mind, he was consumed with a desire too strong to care for anything other than what was before him. Two years of experimentation and failures had pushed him to the brink and one fateful night the man did the unthinkable – bonded a live human subject and a live pokemon together.

The fusion, in some ways, was a success. But the creation was deranged and uncontrollable, killing it was the only tactic left to them after a month of attempting to tame it. But he was not to be discouraged by the flaws and continued down the dark path now tainted with blood and sin. Through the course of that year six young children abruptly vanished, one of them the Champion of the Tokari’s Elite Four. These six youths, abducted by what had now become known as Team Verse, were subjected to months of experimentation and preparation being losing their humanity to the whims of a mad doctor. They maintained their sanity but from the cruel injustice of their fate they boiled with rage and together decimated the location and escaped their chains.

They could no more rejoin society as they could go back to the clutches of Team Verse, which had now disguised itself under a popular network operating a railway system. Influenced by the natures of their pokemon and the fury that ate at their twisted souls, they now wish to purge humanity of its evils – and not simply that of the Verse Corporation.
